Ms. D[di:] ‘s exhibition “Osoraku, eien ni kataomoi (Probably, forever unrequited love) ”

The admiration which was born from the backlash against
D[di:]’s physical allergy was the motivation to create the
20 few art works displayed at the exhibition.

ラフォーレ原宿前に新たに完成した商業ビル
東急プラザ表参道原宿の5階にオープンした
Tokyo’s Tokyo原宿店のレセプションにお邪魔してきました。
コミックとトイと雑貨を融合させた店舗は
同店舗のキュレーターであるBACHさんと山田遊さんの
センスが隅々まで行き届いた小さな宇宙の集合体といった趣で
そのバイイングのセンスとディスプレイに思わずアレコレと
お買い物をしたくなってしまいました。
今回、自社商品の紹介だけではなく、国内外のエッジ―な
アーティストのプロダクツの提案をさせていただき、
大きくお取り上げいただけた事に非常に感謝しております。

Tokyo’s Tokyo
We attended the reception party of Tokyo’s Tokyo Harajuku
which opened on the 5th floor of Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku,
the newly opened shopping complex in front of Laforet Harajuku.
The store is a fusion of comics, toys and general merchandise,
which can be said as brilliant small cosmic world filled by
great taste of BACH and Mr. Yu Yamada, the two curators of the store.
Their buying sense and display was incredible so I wanted to buy a lot of items.
I am really thankful for them not only introducing our company’s product
but for accepting our proposal and spotlighting products of edgy artists
from all other the world.

先日、原宿デザインフェスタギャラリーで開催された
MAX TOYマークナガタさんとこなつさんの合同展示イベント
「こなつながた展」にお邪魔してきました。
猫好きのマークさん、こなつさんが生み出した奇跡の怪獣
ネゴラの新作お披露目もあり、またマークさんの久しぶりの来日もあり
会場は非常にご盛況でした。
新作のキングネゴラ、とても可愛かったです!
メディコム・トイ版も5月にはお披露目できそうですのでお楽しみに!

Konatsu Nagata Show
I visited “Konatsu Nagata Show”, a joint exhibition by
Mr. Mark Nagata of MAX TOY and Ms. Konatsu
held at Harajyuku Design Festa Gallery.
The venue was very excited to have Mr. Nagata’s Japan visit
and display of new Negora, a miracle monster created by
Mr. Nagata and Konatsu, the two cat-lovers.
The new item, King Negora was so cute!
I believe there will be MEDICOM TOY version of the figure
which we can announce in May.

東京自由が丘のモンサンクレールをはじめ12ブランドのコンセプトの異なる
スイーツブランドをご展開の辻口さんのお招きで
ロイヤルパークホテルで開催された嶋村光夫さんとの料理とスイーツの饗宴
『春の美食晩餐会』にお邪魔してきました。
繊細でかつ豪華なコースメニューに加え、辻口さんの手がけた2品のスイーツは
まるでドラえもんに出てきた『世界で一番美味しいお菓子』を思わせる
形容しがたい美味しさに満ちていました。
どの世界でも、自己の極める世界を、より高みに昇華させるべく、
日夜、切磋琢磨されていらっしゃる事をいただいた料理から学ばせてもらった一夜でした。
辻口さん、本当にありがとうございました。

Spring Gastronomic Dinner Party
I was invited to Spring Gastronomic Dinner Party by Mr. Tsujiguchi
who is the owner of Mont St. Clair in Jiyugaoka and producer of 12 different sweets brand.
Mr. Tsujiguchi also participated as an artist in BE@RBRICK WORLD WIDE TOUR 2.
Spring Gastronomic Dinner Party was a banquet of
his sweets and dishes by Mr. Mitsuo Shimamura, held at Royal Park Hotel.
The course menu was both delicate and splendid, moreover,
the two desserts served by Mr. Tsujiguchi were as indescribable deliciousness as
“The most delicious dessert in the whole world” from Doraemon.
The foods served today taught me that everybody is fighting
and pushing themselves to sublimate to another level in their industry.
Thank you so much, Mr.Tsujiguchi.

LOUIS VUITTON MARC JACOBS
I always receive a wonderful surprise gift from Mr. Frederic GRANGIE,
the president and CEO at LOUIS VUITTON JAPAN.
This time, I received a very informative book which covers
a history of the founder Mr. LOUIS VUITTON,
an archive of the ladies’ collection by Marc Jacobs,
as well as their recent projects they worked with various artists
which became phenomenal.
These brilliant designs proposed by LOUIS VUITTON have
full of strength and surprises, which introduce
their already-succeeded products to the market
in further brand new point of view.

オープニングレセプションにお邪魔してきました。

I met with a chandelier artist, Ms. Kim Songhe for the first time in almost a year.
I was happy to see her looking very well,
and was surprised to know that she had a new child before I knew it 
We are currently working on a new DISNEY collaboration for MLE.
3月16日にオープンしたドーバーストリートマーケット ギンザ・コム デ ギャルソンの
前日に開催されたレセプションにお邪魔してきました。
各界の著名人の皆さんがご来場されており、華やかな会場でした。
今回、オープン記念に世界で初となる黒いスヌーピーを作らせていただきました。
黒いスヌーピーがリリースできるのは最初で最後だと思います。

DOVER STREET MARKET GINZA・COMME des GARCONS
We went to the reception party of
DOVER STREET MARKET GINZA・COMME des GARCONS
which opened on March 16th.
The reception party was held the day before their opening date.
There were many leading figures from various fields and it was a glamorous venue.
We made the world’s first black Snoopy figure to commemorate their opening.
I think it will be the first and last time that we can release a black Snoopy.
Please don’t miss it!
キン肉マンのソフビフィギュアで御馴染みの
ファイブスタートイの横森さんと、実に10年以上ぶりの会談。
今年は創業15周年との事で色々な取組みを検討されているようです。
この15年間、共に玩具業界の海を渡ってきた
戦友との再会といった感じで、懐かしい話に花が咲きました。
ちょっと面白い取組みを5月に考えていますので
楽しみにしていてください。

FIVE STAR TOY
I had a meeting with Mr. Yokomori from FIVE STAR TOY
for the first time in more than ten years.
FIVE STAR TOY is well known as the company of KINNIKU MAN soft vinyl figures.
This year is their 15th anniversary so they are planning to do all sorts of projects.
It felt like reuniting with a comrade who has crossed the ocean of the toy industry together
and we had a good time talking bring back memories.
We are planning a fun project in May so please look forward to it.
