3月16日にオープンしたドーバーストリートマーケット ギンザ・コム デ ギャルソンの
前日に開催されたレセプションにお邪魔してきました。
各界の著名人の皆さんがご来場されており、華やかな会場でした。
今回、オープン記念に世界で初となる黒いスヌーピーを作らせていただきました。
黒いスヌーピーがリリースできるのは最初で最後だと思います。

We went to the reception party of
DOVER STREET MARKET GINZA・COMME des GARCONS
which opened on March 16th.
The reception party was held the day before their opening date.
There were many leading figures from various fields and it was a glamorous venue.
We made the world’s first black Snoopy figure to commemorate their opening.
I think it will be the first and last time that we can release a black Snoopy.
Please don’t miss it!

キン肉マンのソフビフィギュアで御馴染みの
ファイブスタートイの横森さんと、実に10年以上ぶりの会談。
今年は創業15周年との事で色々な取組みを検討されているようです。
この15年間、共に玩具業界の海を渡ってきた
戦友との再会といった感じで、懐かしい話に花が咲きました。
ちょっと面白い取組みを5月に考えていますので

FIVE STAR TOY

I had a meeting with Mr. Yokomori from FIVE STAR TOY
for the first time in more than ten years.
FIVE STAR TOY is well known as the company of KINNIKU MAN soft vinyl figures.
This year is their 15th anniversary so they are planning to do all sorts of projects.
It felt like reuniting with a comrade who has crossed the ocean of the toy industry together
and we had a good time talking bring back memories.
We are planning a fun project in May so please look forward to it.

他社様のソフビ商品を扱い始めて、3年弱になります。
中には本来の仕事とは別な意味合いでのご相談も多々あり、
面白いかなと思った事は率先して調整役を買って出る事もあります。
今回、FRENZYさんからのご提案を受け、
MAX TOYさんとのお引合せに一役買いました。

MAX TOYの総帥であるマークナガタさんは日系アメリカ人で日本のソフビ好き
FRENZYのボス大石さんは生粋の日本人でアメリカントイ好き
この二人のエッセンスが交じり合うと、どんなケミストリーが起こるのか?
考えてみると、昨年から色々とお手伝いをしている
内藤ルネ×増田セバスチャンのルネ・ブティックも同じスキームです。
異なる感性が交じり合った時に生まれる新しいコンテンツを、
誰よりも早く目に出来る事に大きな喜びを感じるのかもしれません。

今回のプロジェクト、予想以上にトントン拍子で進み
早ければ5月頃には正式な発表がされそうです。

MAX TOY x FRENZY

Three years has almost passed since we have been carrying
soft vinyl toys from other companies.
I frequently receive advisements besides our regular duty
and sometimes we take the initiative to play a coordinating role.
I had an approach from FRENZY and played a part
in bringing them together with MAX TOY.

Mr. Mark Nagata is the head of MAX TOY, who is
a Japanese American who loves Japanese soft vinyl toys.
Mr. Oishi, the boss of FRENZY, is a true-born Japanese who loves American toys.
What kind of chemical reaction will occur when these two essence get together?
Thinking about it, it was the same scheme as RUNE BOUTIQUE
by Rune Naitou and Masuda Sebastian, which we have been involved from last year.
I might be taking great pleasure by being the first one to see
different senses unite and create a new content.

This project is going along swimmingly which is beyond our expectation
and we may be able to officially announce the project in May the earliest.

ENGOの根林さんにご来社いただきました。
実は根林さんとは現在進行中の案件も含め、当社としては3回目の
異なる会社のプロデューサー様としてのお仕事だったりします。

今回はパンソンワークスのメインキャラクターである
ロビンくんのプロデューサーとしてご来社いただきました。
メディコム・トイがロビンくんを作るのでしょうか?
この辺の種明かしは、秋口になります。

Mr. Nabayashi from ENGO

Mr. Nebayashi from ENGO came to visit our office.
Including the one we are currently working on,
this is the third time working with Mr. Nebayashi as
a producer for a different company.

Mr. Nebayashi came to visit our office this time
as a producer for Robin-Kun,
the main character of PANSON WORKS.
Is MEDICOM TOY going to make Robin-Kun?
The answer to this question will be out in Autumn.
